Pink Helping Hand Program
Providing compassionate financial support to individuals navigating breast cancer treatment.
We Help When it Matters Most.
Facing breast cancer can bring emotional, physical, and financial challenges. The Pink Helping Hand Program was created to provide practical financial support to individuals going through active breast cancer treatment.
United Colors of Pink is a volunteer-led nonprofit supported by the generosity of our donors and community. Through fundraising efforts, we are able to provide financial assistance to people who need additional support during treatment. Each request is reviewed with care, compassion, and respect for the applicant’s privacy.
Who is Eligible?
To be considered for assistance through the Pink Helping Hand Program:
- Applicants must provide documentation from a physician confirming that they are currently receiving active breast cancer treatment.
- Applicants must either live in Illinois or receive their medical treatment within the State of Illinois.
- To protect the integrity of the program and ensure that funds reach those who qualify, UCP may request additional documentation or verification when needed, while following applicable privacy and HIPAA guidelines.
- Assistance is provided based on the order in which completed applications are received and the availability of program funds.
- Individuals may receive financial assistance for up to two years from the date of their first approved application.
- A second request for assistance may be submitted once at least one year has passed since the first application.
- After the two-year eligibility period has ended, additional assistance through this program is no longer available.
Availability of Funds
Because United Colors of Pink relies on donations and fundraising, the amount of assistance available may vary throughout the year. Support is provided as funds are available while maintaining a minimum reserve of $5,000 to ensure the organization can continue operating and supporting its community. This reserve amount is reviewed periodically based on UCP’s financial and operational needs.
We understand that asking for help can feel overwhelming. If you are unsure whether you qualify or have questions about the application process, we encourage you to contact us.
Our goal is to make the process as clear, respectful, and supportive as possible.
