Our Impact
Together, we’re helping people face breast cancer with practical support and hope.
Every Act of Support Creates a Ripple of Hope.
At United Colors of Pink, impact is measured in more than numbers. It is reflected in the people who receive help during treatment, the families who feel less alone, the screenings made more accessible, and the moments of relief made possible through the generosity of our community.
Every donation, partnership, volunteer hour, and shared resource helps us continue our mission of supporting people affected by breast cancer with compassion, dignity, and practical assistance.

Every Dollar Goes Toward Support
United Colors of Pink is a volunteer-led organization built on generosity and service.
Aside from administrative expenses, 100% of donated funds go directly toward supporting individuals and families who turn to us for help.
Our Board of Directors and everyone involved in the organization contribute their time, expertise, and support pro bono, without compensation. This allows us to direct donated funds where they matter most - toward financial assistance, breast health services, and support for people affected by breast cancer.
We are deeply grateful to every volunteer, partner, sponsor, and donor who helps make this possible. Together, we are able to turn generosity into meaningful, direct support for our community.

Survivors Stories
Behind every statistic is a person, a family, and a unique story.
A number may represent someone who received help with treatment-related expenses.
It may represent a woman who was able to get a mammogram she otherwise could not afford.
It may represent a family that received support during an especially difficult chapter.
These individual moments are at the heart of our work and remind us why every act of generosity matters.
“I never expected cancer to bring such wonderful women into my life.”
My Breast Cancer Journey
by Monika O.
Sometimes I joke that maybe I got cancer so I could meet them and learn to appreciate every single day.
The women go above and beyond to be there for us and support us through every stage of treatment. We have monthly gatherings where sometimes we simply can’t stop talking. Renia is always there with her tuning forks, and Beata makes sure every meeting feels special. She invites doctors and psychologists and organizes meditation, yoga, and many other activities.
But our foundation is so much more than meetings.

We take weekend trips together, meet for coffee and lunch, celebrate, and simply spend time with one another. A few times a year, we also organize events, with the proceeds going toward helping women who are currently undergoing active treatment.
Going through breast cancer treatment is definitely not easy. There are difficult days, fear, exhaustion, and moments when everything feels incredibly hard.
But with the foundation and the women in our community, it is so much better. We support one another, help each other, laugh, sometimes cry, and most importantly, we know that none of us has to go through this alone.
And I think that is the most beautiful part - that something so difficult can bring so much closeness, friendship, and kindness into our lives. ❤️
“Support That Changed My Journey”
My Breast Cancer Journey
by Dorota C.
In October 2025, I was diagnosed with invasive ductal breast cancer. It is hormone-receptor positive – estrogen and progesterone positive – and was diagnosed at stage 3. I underwent a mastectomy of my left breast and removal of lymph nodes.
I was terrified. I thought this might be the end, that I would die, and I kept worrying about what would happen to my child and whether my husband would be able to manage everything.
In November, just before I started chemotherapy, a friend sent me a link to the United Colors of Pink Foundation. I signed up and was welcomed so warmly. The women were wonderful. It was one of the best things that could have happened to me at that time.

I remember that during my first meeting, I could barely talk about my illness. It felt almost as if it wasn’t really happening to me.
Thanks to the women I met through the foundation, my outlook on recovery began to change. Their support helped me get through the challenges of chemotherapy and radiation treatment.
I received tremendous support - not only financial, but emotional as well. I realized that I was not alone, that I had people there to help me, and that I could get through this.
Thank you for being there. ❤️
“Finding Light Through the Fight”
My Breast Cancer Journey
by Monika R.
Life was moving along for me. Each and every day was going as usual, similar to the days of my friends and family. Some ups, some downs but mostly ups. When I went to see my doctor for my yearly checkup, he suggested that I go for a preventative mammogram. I thought to myself, do I really need to go for a mammogram at my age? So I left my doctor’s office and made an appointment to get my mammogram.
So when the time came, I went to the appointment. What did I have to be afraid of? Nothing. I GOT THIS. I was always healthy. No cancer history in my family. But then a few days later, my life took an unexpected turn. I still remember it like it was yesterday. It was late morning, New Year’s Eve 2020 when my phone rang. It was the hospital calling with my results. The nurse asked me if this was a good time to talk. I said Of Course. It was at this moment that my life changed.

The nurse told me I had cancer. I was devastated!!! I was 42 years old and I was diagnosed with Malignant Neoplasm of a lower-outer quadrant of my right breast. (Triple Negative Breast Cancer). I asked her what should I do next. She told me to call my doctor the first chance I get and to go out and celebrate the New Year!!
How can you celebrate the New Year with news like this? I could not stop crying. I struggled with dealing with this news and pondered how I was going to share this news with my family. It was not easy!! Even though this was terrible news, I considered myself lucky to have my family and friends right there by my side to go along on this journey with me.
The first step I took on my journey was Chemotherapy. I had 16 sessions of Chemotherapy that took place over the course of 6 months. This was the hardest thing I have ever gone through. Chemo is something that will suck all of the life right out of you. But after the 16 sessions, my doctor gave me good news. The Chemo worked and cancer had shrunk!! Now, on to the next step. I said goodbye to both of my breasts. I had a double mastectomy and then, breast reconstruction surgery.
As of today, I am cancer FREE! However, I know that with God watching me, I will be able to see my boys graduate college, get married and have children.
Throughout my journey, the United Colors of Pink provided me with great support. Marta Zawadzka was the first person who reached out and thanks to the funding from the United Color of Pink, I was able to receive IV vitamins twice a week during my Chemotherapy. From the start of my Chemo till today, I am receiving Dr. Mercola supplements that boost my immune system and energy level. She also worked to have someone come by and assist with my housework when I was going through my Chemo.
The second person who was a lifesaver during my journey was Kasia August. She was my shining light. Words cannot express what a great support she was for me. She visited me on a regular basis, taught me the importance of nutrition and brought natural products for everyday use. The times when I was in a dark place, she reached out to me and talked to me for hours, until I felt better. Our conversations always ended in laughter. I wish everyone would get a chance to know Marta and Kasia as they are a great support team that is dedicated to supporting women who are suffering from cancer.
I am very grateful for all the help I received from the United Colors of Pink. Thank you to everyone who has donated!!! My story above is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the help and assistance that the United Colors of Pink provides. Once again, THANK YOU.
