Who can receive help from United Colors of Pink?
What types of assistance are available?
Do I need to be currently receiving breast cancer treatment to apply?
For the Pink Helping Hand Program, applicants must provide documentation confirming active breast cancer treatment. Other programs may have different requirements.
Do I have to live in Illinois?
For certain assistance programs, you must either live in Illinois or receive your medical treatment within the State of Illinois.
Do I need health insurance to qualify?
Not necessarily. Some programs are specifically designed to help individuals who are uninsured, underinsured, or experiencing financial hardship.
What documents will I need to apply?
Depending on the program, you may be asked to provide identification, medical-provider information, and documentation confirming your diagnosis or current treatment.
How do I apply for assistance?
You can begin by completing the appropriate assistance application on our website. Be sure to provide all requested information so our team can review your request.
How long does the application process take?
Review times may vary depending on the program, completeness of the application, and availability of funds. Providing all requested documentation can help prevent delays.
Is financial assistance guaranteed?
No. Assistance depends on eligibility, available program funds, and the order in which completed applications are received.
How much financial assistance can I receive?
The amount of assistance varies by program and available funding. Some programs may have established maximum benefit amounts.
Can I apply more than once?
For the Pink Helping Hand Program, eligible applicants may apply for assistance again after at least one year has passed from their first application, within the program’s two-year eligibility period.
What if I’m not sure which program is right for me?

Can a family member or caregiver apply on my behalf?
In some situations, a family member or caregiver may help complete an application, but documentation and authorization from the person receiving assistance may still be required.

Yes. Healthcare professionals and patient navigators are welcome to contact us for information about available resources and eligibility requirements.
Is my personal and medical information kept private?
United Colors of Pink treats applicant information with care and confidentiality. Medical or personal documentation is requested only when needed to verify eligibility and process assistance.
What if I need help that United Colors of Pink does not provide?
Whenever possible, we may be able to connect you with trusted community organizations, healthcare resources, or other programs that offer additional support.
Does United Colors of Pink provide medical advice?
No. United Colors of Pink provides support, education, and resources but does not replace medical care or advice from your healthcare provider.
What if I need urgent medical help?
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, contact emergency services or your healthcare provider directly. United Colors of Pink assistance programs are not intended for emergency medical care.
